10:00 a.m. Moored at City Road lock, we welcome you aboard Helix with tea, coffee, or something stronger. Once you've had a chance to get comfortable and had a quick tour of Helix, we cast off and almost immediately cruise through the 960-yard Islington Tunnel, under some of the old parts of London. You will see the interior of the tunnel brightly lit by Helix’s lights, looking almost unchanged since it was built in 1820. It's quite dry and clean so you can sit on the foredeck and soak up the atmosphere. Emerging into the daylight again, we continue for a few minutes before arriving at Battlebridge basin, home of the London Canal Museum.
