At Cumberland Basin we pass the unusual pagoda-style floating Chinese restaurant and make a hard turn to starboard. Before long we are within London Zoo, with beasts one one side and birds on the other, housed in Lord Snowdon's eye-catching aviary. This is another popular spot for sightseers, who will be walking the broad towpath alongside the canal. The Zoo leads into Regents Park where we pass under Blow-Up Bridge; we'll tell you its story when we reach it. Then through the delightful formal gardens at the edge of St. John's Wood, just a good bowl away from the famous Lords' Cricket Ground.
Blow-up Bridge, last demolished accidentally in 1874!
