After cruising through Lisson Grove Basin and the short Maida Hill Tunnel, we emerge into the crowded, colourful and boat-lined stretch leading to the pool of Little Venice. This area is very close to major arterial routes through London, yet the canal provides a quiet haven with little traffic in sight except boats. The moorings are very popular, so you can often see a variety of visiting craft. We turn to port, onto the Paddington arm of the Grand Union Canal.
